Decorations and Decorative lights
Decorative lights are only used once a year so check them carefully.
Keep decorations away from heaters, lights, the fireplace and candles.
Even though the numbers are relatively low, the fact of them occurring at this festive time is very traumatic for those involved.
One fire is one fire too many.
Safety messages
- Check that the correct fuse is fitted.
- Replace any blown bulbs.
- Make sure, where fitted, the first bulb is a fused bulb.
- Turn off at night and when you go out.
- Don’t let bulbs touch anything that burns easily, like paper or fabrics.
- Do not overload sockets, always use a fused adaptor with Residual Current Device (RCD) protection.
